 Changyu Wine Group Company, Ltd., Yantai, whose previous name was Changyu Pioneer Wine Company,Yantai, was established by a well-known overseas Chinese merchant giant, Mr. Chang bishi, with a history of 108 years. It is not only the first industrialized winery in China, but also the largest winemaking enterprise in Asia by now. For its great contribution to the development of world wine-making, Changyu's hometown, Yantai City, was honoured with International Vine and Wine City by the International Vine and Wine Bureau (O.I.V.), and also was accepted as the observer of the O.I.V.in 1987. In 1997, Changyu Group, as the sole sponsor, combined its four wine-making subsidiaries (brandy, wine, sparkling wine and health wine branch) and five relating companies, was authorized to issue 88 million of B shares in Shenzhen Stock Exchange Market, and set up Yantai Changyu Pioneer Wine Company Ltd. (YCPWCL). Changyu Group, as the controlling shareholder of the shareholding company, became the first stock company limited in Chinese winemaking trades. From 1997, Changyu Group united 5 relating enterprises, and become larger and stronger. Now, headed by the wine products, it has been expanded into a corporation, which operates in series of scopes, such as development and research of health wine and traditional Chinese medicines, procession of liquor and alcohol, importing and exporting, packaging, machinery, glass products, etc.. It now owned a shareholding stock company, a shareholding branch, four sole shareholding branches and one branch company. |
